Volunteering with Us

Volunteering with Sheffield Community Transport is a very rewarding experience and is a great way to develop new skills, meet new friends and help people get out and about.  We need responsible volunteers to help provide Door 2 Door transport for people in Sheffield who find ‘mainstream’ services difficult to use.

We have a range of volunteering opportunities to suit your interests and time availability.  We are always recruiting for minibus drivers, car drivers, and passenger assistants.  We meet our volunteers’ expenses and provide extensive training and support.

Our Volunteer Positions

 Minibus Drivers

Our minibus drivers drive our fleet of fully-accessible minibuses to help community groups get to and from their activities.  Our drivers must be over 21 years of age and hold a full driving licence.  We offer full training and on-going support.

Community Car Scheme Drivers

Our car drivers use their own vehicles to assist individuals travel to lunch clubs, visit friends or other activities.  We reimburse all our drivers for the costs they incur and offer on-going support and training.

Once you have completed our application form we will review it and contact you to arrange to meet so that we can tell you more about volunteering at SCT.  We want to make sure you have all the information you need before you decide to take the next step.  We will take up references and complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check before you start volunteering with us.
